Main Sewer Line Back-Up Causes
-
Though there are somethings you can let go down the drain. There are some things you should not let go down into the sewer:
-
Baby Wipes, Paper Towels, Tampons, Diapers, Egg Shells, Oil/Grease, etc.
-
Some older lines are not strong enough to bare the strength of tree roots next to them. The tree roots search for areas of water (sewer line) and actually penetrate the line.
-
Tree roots cause the line to break and a lot of trouble!
-
A sagging sewer line is unpredictable and is a case of “it happens”. This is when the soil around the sewer line starts to settle deeper and the line has a “low spot”.
-
So, since there is a low spot this causes debris to gather and build-up there.
-
Some lines get damaged. It could be because of old age or corrosion.
